Orthodontic alignments are designed to enhance your smile by correcting the position of your teeth. If for any reason your teeth are out of alignment or position, an orthodontic procedure will be needed to set them back into place. Bad bites are issues with your alignments and are known as malocclusions. Several forms of malocclusions exist that can hinder your oral health.

Numerous forms of misalignments can often set your mouth in a state of unrest. Malocclusions that have forced teeth out of their proper rotation or into the wrong position will need to be treated. Furthermore, overcrowded teeth, large gaps between teeth, or known spacing malocclusion issues will require orthodontic adjustments with products such as Invisalign®. Even jaw misalignments, known as crossbites, will require treatment.

Often, numerous issues with misalignments in your incisors can occur. This includes malocclusions where your lower incisors may stick out past your upper incisors or vice versa. Various forms of incisor malocclusions include open bites, deep bites, misplaced midlines, overbites, and underbites.

Make sure to take diligent care of your teeth, so that your smile can last for ages. For more information about malocclusions, or to schedule a comprehensive examination with Dr. Chris A.
